Need Help Passing Emissions in southern cali

Postby lemmez » Tue Apr 22, 2008 5:51 pm

I'm looking to get scion tc headers for my solara se and i found out that they are not street legal and will not pass emissions. does anyone that lives around southern cali have a shop that i can just pay them to pass me? If i can pass the smog check, i will purchase these headers and be the test subject for these headers.

Below are the headers i want. Makes 13.4Hp and 6.4TQ with JUST THE HEADER.

http://weapon-r.com/english/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6229

for all you weapon r haters. Weapon R is not bad, ive been reading all the scion forum reviews and so far this was the best one.

off topic. I currently have the secret weapon r intake and my ass dyno felt a gain at the high end rpms. Compared to the injen intake, most of the reviews i read for it was that it made a great sounding noise but no power gains.

You've just discovered the reason cat back systems are so popular in California. With only a few exceptions any exhaust change in front of the cat is illegal and you'll fail the emissions test.

The good news is you can just bolt your original headers/exhaust system on get tested then go back to your aftermarket headers for the next two years. If you threw your OEM headers in the trash just head for a local wrecking yard and get what you need.

Cheers
