2006 Solara Kaixen HID issue

Postby jkotulak » Sun Feb 10, 2008 5:44 pm

I recently installed a Kaixen 6000k HID kit in my 2006 Solara. It works great except my DRLs no longer work. Also, when I flash my high beams, only the right high beam bulb flashes. Could this be a grounding problem? I am using a relay to supply power to the ballasts. Thanks in advance.

My DRLs work fine with my HIDS (allthoguh i have regular bulbs in my high beams). Do the both come on when you turn on your highs normal? Also didy ou install HIDs into your highs aswell?

I am using the stock bulbs for the high beams. When I put the light switch into the "DRL" mode, neither comes on. When I turn on high beams, both HIDs stay lit (which I think is correct) but only the right high beam turns on.

Yikes... sounds like a wiring/connection prob...

Bump for some help from someone who's experienced this before.

Any updates on this issue? I've got some aftermarket hids and they've been great.

did u check the fuse for high beams?
and perhaps, check the lighbulb?
did u upgrade ur high beam to super white light bulb?
those upgraded bulbs could possible burn ur light bulb socket.
unplug the socket and double check the shape of socket.

on all new toyota/solara
if one of the lighbulb on high beam is not function correctly, such as light bulb burn, it will force itself to shut off DRL function.

When you turn on your high beams, the low beams are not suppose to turn on. Only your high beams are suppose to stay on.
