Hey everyone. Im lookin to make some eyelids!!! problem is i dont know where to find good qualtiy vinyl locally. I have a few websites that sell uncut sheets but problem is i cant risk getting a silver that doesnt match the paint and the website doesnt accept returns. If anyone knows somewhere where there is a good selection of vinyl please let me know. I live in New york on Long Island. Also the website is http://www.decalstyling.com/vinyl_sheets.html let me know if you think their silver will match my paint.

Thanks :D

Michael's Arctic Frost was making some eyelids for the Gen2s. I saw his and they looked pretty good. You might want to check with him. (He is one of the moderators.)

Only way you could ever possibly know is to get some and see if it matches!

Very unlikely, but go for it if you want to.

You really need to go to a shop to match as close as you're trying to do. I have at least 6 sample books with each one having 8-10 different shades and 'sparkle' quality of silver vinyls. Make sure to get one that's coated or else you're going to regret it. Silver metallic vinyls deteriorate really quick because they actually have metal chips in it and they draw heat bad. Go to Avery or 3-M's site to get an idea.

JD,

New York isn't exactly like living out in the boonies where all you have is a single True Value hardware store and maybe an auto supply.

Hit the Big Apple yellow pages (online) and look for Vinyl suppliers. That would make it easy to stop by the place and check colors.

BTW I looked for you but GADS the city that never sleeps has a lot of vinyl record stores! You'll have to wade thorugh those with a search more focused than just "vinyl"

Cheers

There's a new guy in the intro section that has eyelids on his LunarMistMetallic. Photos look like they match well. Maybe tag him and see where he got the stock.

Search for local sign shops and not vinyl suppliers. Suppliers are wholesale to sign shops only (most of the time). And a sign shop might even throw you enough scrap to trim your own. I know that's what my shop does when we get a motorhead in that's tryin something new.

haha. Hey guys this is an old post of mine. I was looking into eyelids and i found em a while ago! the "new guy" you speak of is me. I put up those pics. I contacted in style graphics and asked if they could recomend a color match to my car and they responded saying once they had done a custom order on the exact same eyelids and they already had a template made. They suggested a color match and even sent me pictures of 2 previous solaras they did. One silver one black. They cost approx $30.

I had the idea a while back to tint my tailights but i was discouraged my man ohter SG's here saying that gen 2 tail lights are near impossible to tint becasue of the "bump" in the center of the light. Lost soul looks like he has accomplished this task and I would LOVE to know how you did it.
