Replacing the H10 with the 9005 for more light!

I enjoy lighting. I wanted to get more lighting for my fog lights, without an HID retrofit, mostly because I cannot afford it.

But before anyone does this, I would advice you to check and see how many amps of difference there is between the two. I am going to go ahead and leave this in, but I am a risk taker! Again, I would not recomend this to everyone, unless you check the amperage difference.

Here is the stock H10 foglight bulb

Here is a comparision between the stock bulbs:

Here is the comparision after the 9005 is modified:

I'll get some wall shots and some comparision pics in a minute or two. Stock bulb is on the drivers side. Modified 9005 bulb is on the passengers side.

Its hard to tell in these pics cause its not very dark yet, but there is a noticable difference. I'll post more pics as soon as it gets dark. and here they are:

This last pic looks like it has more glare, but with my eyes, I noticed no more glare.

I think we are talking less than 1 amp difference...

I believe the stock bulb is only 45w, and the 9005 is a 65 or a 55w I believe.

K, i did the incredibly basic math....lol

H10 bulb: 42w and 3.5amps
9005 bulb: 65w and 5.4amps

so a difference of 1.9 amps. Not huge. Since its a 10amp fuse, I believe we are fine :) But I am no expert. Just more information.

So, are all 9005s 65w? or usually 55w?
