just bought some rain x wiper blades for my 06 and just wondering if anyone has em and if they do what they think and if they had any problems. i work for toyota and ive heard of some toyotas that use them because the whole arm must be replaced, but the avalons come with the rain x blades from factory. and comments or news would be helpful. thnx

Are those the new one-piece molded blade/arm combo? I had some on my rental Avalon in MI last week and they worked pretty good - great concept!

yeah they are the new ones, just threw em on a little while ago...now i just need some damn rain to see how good they work. been about six months or so, so i figured i need new wipers why not try theses. i had no problems with the install, they are the same installation as the stock blades. i did make a post in the intro forum to introduce myslef but as a quick refresh...im a 22 year old female livin in cape cod ma, and i bought my solara back in october from the toyota dealership i work at. its nothing special, just an black 06 SE with a sunroof. no real options, but its ok i just needed to get something new and i figured toyotas run forever so why not just get into one. i was gonna get a TC but i didnt really like the fact that they dont hold their value as well as some of the toyotas...wich is strange considering they are the same company as Scion. but anywho thats a little background and um...i like the nice quick responses here. i think im gonna like this site and hopefully i can get some ideas and suggestions while im here. thnx guys

Welcome to the site; nice car... I haven't used the ones with Rainx, but PXL I think the ones you're thinking about is a different one (I have them too but I think they're by Trico).

**EDIT** Never mind I found the Latitude on RainX's website... Should try it, but then again we're in SoCal  .

Thought I'd bring this up again...

I found some of these at Auto Zone and they're AWESOME!

Rain-X Latitude Premium Wiper Blades - looks really clean installed and they work great! 1-piece molded design - no fugly mechanical arms and strips of rubber falling out - very simple. I can't believe nobody made these before.

You have had the same wipers on your car for TWO YEARS?! You should change them a little more frequently than that

You rainy-weather guys don't need to change the wipers as often as us southerners do. The sun dries them up pretty bad here. It's once ever 6 months-year for me. We don't get that much rain, but when you need them they gotta work! ;)

Besides - I live at the beach, so we get a constant "mist" that coats the windows and I have to use my wipers/fluid to clean the windshield almost daily.

The Rain-X wipers aren't cheap - about $18 ea. but as far as performance and style, there's nothing else like them. ;)

I suppose, but even when I lived in NY, they never lasted long...perahaps it was the snow and really cold weather.

They say to change them every 6 mos, but they start to SUCK well before then.
