Ok yesterday we recieved a lot of snow (commnly called white crap). The guy who is payed to "unsnow" my entrance arrived like 2 hours after I arrived home, so I try to pass over the snow, I get stock cuz I'm lightly lowered with TRD springs. I got the help of a neighbour and a shovel. I parked my car correctly but my neighbour suggest me to go foward and back to do a better path (BEPPPPPP WRRRRRONNNNGGGGGG !!!) I never do that since the guy who "unsnow" the entrance was coming in the evening and I wasn't going out...anyway I did it and at some point the snow was going over the engine bay debris protector under the engine....I heard like 2-3 snap and I check the protector seems to be so loose now !

So I was cheking what I can I do to fix the situation in winter...else than listen to my neighbor hints !! ;)

There is the Tein C/O for the Solara (04+ ) spec.
http://www.tein.com/ti/l68-mcv31l.html

EDITED (more simple question structure :P)

My question is : Do you think it mays be adjusted from 0" to 3" drop ?? Even if specs says 2" to 3" drop, maybe they don't consider why a guy would like to put C/O and adjust it to stock height...

Thanks guys to take the time to help me out on this one.

Solution:

Park the Solara in the winter and buy a 4x4! ;)

Since the Teins are adjustable, I thought most people went lower than TRD spring height - not higher! (if that's your question?)

I tore off that plastic shroud under the front as it scraped on every bump and kept popping loose anyway - it's not like a real rock guard anyway - I don't see what it actually protects under there... :-?

We have a really different weather Jeff...and I cannot afford a 4X4. I went to garage this morning to fix it...putting larger nuts. I think it is really efficient to block all the slush (melting snow) going toward the engine bay. I'll keep it like this and avoid to go reverse in the heavy snow !!

Funny they said that Tein SS C/O are "This high performance damper can be used for weekend racing and/or daily driving."
http://www.tein.com/ss1damp.html

and here in the installation instructions they are saying the opposite.
http://www.tein.com/ti/inst/kl68u.pdf

I think Tein SS C/O for the 04+ Solara are not like other Tein SS C/O for other car...I think that the minimal drop is so big that it may not be used for road...or at least they don't want to be responsible for anything. I ask them about the minimal drop...I'll receive an answer soon I guess. I think Tein SS C/O for other car have a minimal drop closer to 1"...

Yes, you can bring it up to stock height or just give it a 1" drop.

Thanks Milt !! :)

....I just wonder, now, why in the specs they are writing minimum drop 2" and maximum drop 3" ;) Hopefully, I'll receive some answer on that by Tein USA.

It may just be me, but when I had the coilovers at a height that was different than the recommended height, the ride was really harsh.

Thanks for this precious feed-back !
It makes sense since the spring should be very tight if the "height adjustment ring" is up

OH! I wasn't thinking about going in reverse - I can see how it would act like a "scoop" and collect snow like crazy when you back up! :o

I also forget about all the crap you guys have on the roads there too - mud, slush, salt, etc... best to leave it one then and beef it up as you say. I'd replace the plastic clips with longer bolts and nuts or something along the middle and back.

Good luck!

Already done ! ;)

Man I think that if I get those Tein SS C/O I'll not be able to put it at 0" or 1" drop in winter without driving problem (like cklinh said...) :(

I'm still waiting to receive an answer by Tein...

Dear Sebastien,

Thank you for your interest in TEIN High Performance suspension products.

Sorry, but that is the minimum drop you can achieve with our coilover kit. We do not offer anything else that can raise the car any higher. You can get approximately an inch of adjustment for the front and rear.

We state that our products are for "off-road use only" because this is a height adjustable kit. Because you can alter ride height, the end user is responsible for whatever state laws and regulations they violate by altering ride height. Regulations vary from state to state. It is still a street coilover kit.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Best regards,
Sales
