I've been disputing with myself for some time now whether or not to buy one for my car. If I do get one, I don't know if I should get the generic ebay one or pay tons of money to get one from the dealership. Choiecs are so hard to make :-? . If you have any experience or advice on this stuff, please share!

Yes, I think it's well worth it, unless you never hit the interstate. Just an example, I'm on the highway the majority of the time and I've always had rock chips and bugs and whatever else you can think of. Well, my hood and bumper has taken a beating, but not as bad as some cars I've seen.

I've recently had my front bumper and hood repainted and I'm having it professionally installed hopefully next week. My guy that does it for all the dealerships, lexus, toyota, etc. tells me that it normally runs about $350-$450, depending on the coverage.

I used to not like the vehicles that I've seen w/ these clear bras, but unless I plan on repaint my bumper and hood every two years, it just makes sense for me to get the clear bra. On top of it, I've got the pearl and it's 3 stage and cost more when it comes to repair and the color match is more difficult than most other colors.

Hope this helps,

I like mine... don't do ebay or the dealer... as michael said, find out who does it for the dealer and go straight to them...

I've got pretty much as much coverage as you'd want (pretty much anything facing forward, including the sideview mirrors)...

The installer told me that my color has been one of the best ones he's done as far as not being able to see the clear bra until you're up close.

As always, ask for the best material (3M, amongst others).

I had a fat discount and ended up paying cost plus the cost of lunch :)

If you look just to the right of the tip of the headlight, you'll see a diagonal line... that's the edge of the clear bra... (this is with flash, by the way, so it stands out more)

Plenty worth it if you have an expensive paint job or drive on crap roads a lot.

My friend has it on his 350Z (the Chameleon one ;)) and the clear-bra'd parts still look perfect.

Thanks for the input everyone! How much did the direct installer charge you, cklinh? I need to get an idea of how much it's going to cost for the bra, because it's about time to get the hood/front bumpers repainted :-?

Was that just for the front bumper or does it include the hood, mirrors also?
