NEW GEN 2 BODY KIT

NEW GEN 2 BODY KIT

Postby black panther » Thu Jan 25, 2007 3:13 pm

ok, so today i got my car back after some body work, i had it debadged and had it repainted where it got keyed pretty bad, anyways, so the reason i am making this a new thread is because i got a green light for a body kit at around 1000 for our car. the body guy said that ten kits minimum would have to be ordered, also, we pick the design! so while i have a few ideas i am no master designer, i will try to put what i have in mind down on paper, but what i need from you guys is your own thoughts and designs! also once we have the designs, a list of people who would like to pilot this. oh and for clarification, this is not a trim replacement, it is bumper replacement with skirts!!!!!!!! :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking:

Lip kit is the only thing worth putting on the solara. Its a classy car, unless you can come up with something VIP style or very mild no one here will want it. And I'm sure it will be cheap fiberglass as well, good way to ruin a nice car. But props to you for getting things done and bringing new product. Good luck.

^^^ I agree that the only thing that will look right and maintain the Solara's upscale (read non-rice) image is a nice lip kit...

And is this kit going to be fiberglass or polyurethane?

I am interested in getting in on this. I design & install vehicle graphics on the side (used to do it for a living but I like it better once in a while), and I'd like a shot at drawing some things up too. I loosely followed the last post, but there was a bunch of ideas in there. For clarification: I think I remember hearing that this will be urethane, not fiberglass? And is this to include front and rear bumpers,as well as side skirts, and is the fender flare idea still an option? By the way, here are two shots of my graphic designs after I installed them (just so you know I can actually come up with artwork that works); I used Photoshop for the roughs, then illustrator for the scaling, and FlexiSignPro for the cutting...

I recommend getting some PS assistance from PXLPainter. I know he's dying for a kit and has mad skills with PS.

Aww Mark, you've seen too much. Let the new blood take a shot at it while us cynical guys sit back and watch. We might just be surprised. (or not)
