What kind of Springs to use?

What kind of Springs to use?

I'm trying to figure out what kind of springs i should get for my solara. I want to get something that is closest to stock ride quality. I don't expect it to be as good as stock but at least try to get as close to stock. I'm still deciding how low to drop the car too.

^^^ Nice "new" pic of Posh's ride...

I went TRD springs... and the RIDE is very good. (I kept 17" rims, so my rubber is still 50 profile... and the ride is great WITH a drop and performance improvement...)

On the OTHER hand... there are alot of others out here with alot more experience with "different" setups... listen to them all and make the decision that fits YOUR needs.

How are they different? Ride quality? Are coilovers less stiff? I don't know anything about springs. I'd like to drop mine, but I think with my road condtions, I should keep the height.

Don't want to do any contest here...BUT I'm the man here driving on baddest road in here !!! ;) And the drop (TRD spring 1.2"-1.4") doesn't bother my riding.

FIRST, you have to clarify what your OBJECTIVES are...

SECOND, you have to know what the specific characteristics of each "system" or "method" are... (pros and cons, based on your objectives)

I don't think you can say ONE is better than the OTHER as an absolute statement.

For example... that's like saying a SUPRA is BETTER than a SIENNA...

It depends. Are you needing a FAMILY vehicle? Do you drive in alot of FOUL weather? Do you have THREE DOGS and transport PASSENGERS to and from the AIRPORT regularly... Do you like to drive ALONE and FAST? Is mileage or acceleration more important to you?

Do you want the STIFFEST, BEST HANDLING, MOST ADJUSTABLE, LOWEST RIDE POSSIBLE without ride being TOO CRITICAL?

Do you want a MODEST DROP, improved handling, and retention of STOCKISH RIDE?

WHAT IS YOUR BUDGET?

....you get the point...

IMHO
