How to swap fog lights?

How to swap fog lights?

Postby RDKamikaze » Sun Jan 07, 2007 12:14 am

It looks like I need to jack my car and remove the plastic cover on the underside of my Solara to get to the fogs. Is this true, and is there anything else I need to remove after that? I just got some 2500K bulbs for my fogs so I want to put them on but I'm a little stuck. any help would be great, thanks!

You're on the right track. Just unscrew the edges of the plastic pieces underneath and reach up in there - no need to jack up the car. I've swapped mine 3 times already (and I still hate them!) :x

You don't have to undo the whole plastic thing if you can just squeeze your hand in there and reach the fogs. Just twist and turn..it should come right out.

WHOA! :o

#1 - wouldn't help a bit with the Gen 2!

#2 - about 10x more work than just doing a reach-around underneath! ;)

Hahaha, thanks for the help guys. I'm sorry about all the noobish questions recently (how to install O2 sim, headers, fog lights?) but I just want to make sure I get all this stuff installed perfectly and the best way possible, you know? Anyways, thanks again for great help!

A question on the O2 simulator: should I install that today or will I have time to do it tomorrow in Auto class? I only have 2 hours to work and I'm not sure how much time it takes to swap headers. I just don't want the system to throw a code because I don't do too well with the handheld electronics in that class  . Is there any downside if I install the O2 simulator a day early, because I'll only be driving my car 3 miles total by the time I put on the headers.

i know this is kind of late, but for future reference wise. I just recently change my fog lights to HIDs. I didn't have to take my bumper off or the bottom panel. All i did, was reach in from the front bottom grill and twisted the bulb and pulled it out. The wires attached to the bulb is loose and can be pulled out making it easier to detach the bulb and the wire harness.
