Well, played around with a few focal lengths, angles, positions, and exposures.... I kinda like this one.

Bacsically generic HIDS. Had to Dremel the HELL out of the bulb mount tabs to bet them to slip into the Toyota housing... practically had to CRACK them to "twist" them into a snug position... about wrenched my neck crawling around underneath getting ballast mounted...

All in all, I'm happy with the result. Fog bulbs are Silverstars... When I viewed ONE HID in, and the other stock DRL, OMG! The stock was REALLY yellow... these look "bluer" when shot in other angles... interesting what all you can capture with some experimentation...

Temperature is 5300k. Ballast appears to be by HALO. Capsules?

I wanted "safe" and "luminous".... these appear to be BOTH. I haven't bent the tab in the housing yet, and the projector lenses are still stock and they were "smokey" lookin' at 55k miles on the car.... so I'd like to clean them off sometime... I'd also like to do the reflector removal thingy sometime... probably next spring...

Here's a better spectral display of 5300k hid vs silverstar fogs...

made an invitation to anyone with HIDs connection to PM me. Got a PM.

They didn't come with any hardware... and the box was plain white... but the ballast indicates "made in japan", and the wiring components and connections were all good quality. The rework of the bulb-flanges was a pain in the arse... but once it all went together, I was pleased with the result. I stuck with the "clean" white spectrum... and still see pretty good color, enough for me. (I actually liked the really SICK 8 and 10k range bulbs... but I am a "function" over "form" kind of guy most of the time...)

Maybe I'll get a shot with the "Ultra Silverstars" that are in the HIGH beams... it's a GREAT combo in the country... ultra-white halogens and pure-white hids...

That's the thing, these WERE the H11 kit!!! (The tabs were very "sharp-edged" and there was pretty good flash from the parting lines in the molded plastic...) I had a HELL of a time trying to be CAREFUL with the damn things the whole time I was handling them, reworking them, and trying to get them IN!! Anyway... once in, I think they look good. (So far, the ballast ignites the caps almost instantly. Beams are clear and cool in my field of vision... which appears much broader AND further than before... the light reminds me of a Dental chair light... intense.)

Take pictures of the beam pattern against a wall.

Taking pictures directly into the light tells us more about your camera than what the lights actually look like...

Guilty as charged!! I'll get a beam shot soon... the car sits high in my drive, and the drive slopes away... I'd had some drinks when I shot, so I didn't wan't to be driving around... I'll find a good wall... all you'd see in MY drive would be the yard, trees, and DEER.
