Does having 20 inch rims decrease your gas mileage????

Also what tire are most going with that have 20's???

Does having 20 inch rims on your solara, compared to the stock 17's, decrease gas milage?

Also people that have 20 inch rims on your solara, what brand tire are you useing?

much. Take the wieght difference for your desired 20s and put that much junk in your trunk. That should give you an idea. I'm sure its negligible. Can't be more than riding around with an extra passenger.

However, this is rolling weight, which might make more a difference than stuff in the trunk. Those big hunks of metal are likely to require more torque to rotate, no? Honestly, I don't know. I'm just guessing.

In any case, if you can't afford a mpg or two, how can you afford 20 inch rims?

good point TripleBlack, i was just wondering if it was going to kill the gas mileage. With gas prices being over 3.00 a gallon now. Saving every penny helps.... And if the 20's were going to greatly kill my gas mileage i wouldnt get them...

I dunno about rims, but as long as the dia of the tire remains the same it shouldn't matter too horribly much!

I went from 30" tires on my Tundra to 35"s and other than messin' with the speddo a bit, my calculated MPG didn't drop as much as I thought it would... maybe like 1mpg at the most.
