Roof Rack?

Roof Rack?

Postby TW85 » Wed May 17, 2006 8:31 pm

I am going to buy a kayak soon but need to find a way to transport it without borrowing one of my parents' cars. Does anyone have a roof rack for their 2nd gen. Solara? I have no idea how they mount but I would prefer one that does not require any drilling in metal if at all possible...

Also, if you have a roof rack, what did it cost? I looked online a while ago and they were $600+! :o

All Yakima Racks are clamp-on - check them out... the best way to go with your kayak! (unless you have a convert like me, that is!) ;)

Curtain airbags = something not available with drop-tops.

Either that or duct tape it :drinking: .

How exactly do these racks clamp onto a 2 door car?

2-door cars have longer doors than a 4-door so they attach in the door jam - front and back edges. Check out Yakima online - there's tons of photos and descriptions everywhere. Google can be your friend! ;)

Whatever you do, get something that will come off easily...you don't want to ruin the look of your car when you aren't hauling that kayak :-)
