K&N short ram intake

K&N short ram intake

Postby Dekanas » Tue Apr 25, 2006 5:47 am

I'm thinking to replace stock airbox with some kind of short ram intake.
I've read threads about cpe and injen short rams. But the tuning company I've asked for, offered me short ram of K&N designed for GenII Solaras.
Have K&N produced it already?
Have anybody seen it mounted?

They send me a picture, it looks like K&N 57i Induction Kits as it shown at the site
http://www.knfilters.com/57i/57i-induction-kits.htm
it something like that one at the bottom right.
But there are no visible place where to mount MAF sensor or 3 houses.
The tube in my picture looks very cheap, made maybe from rubber.
With shipping it will cost to me 270 $

I think they are intended to fool me.
But that is the one of the most famous tuning company out there.
maybe I'm wrong?

On that same K&N site it says they have only an oil filter and air filter for our car. Glad you posted first. Even if it was an innocent mistake on their part, it would have been a big pain for you I'm sure.

The tube is sturdy plastic and it holds up well...I'm only vouching for the part because my friend has a K&N SRI on his Dodge Charger. Its no polished aluminum but it gets the job done well..

As for the 57i kit, I'm scratching my head as well....keep us posted!

BTW, >$200 for PVC is pretty lame even if they did have one. You could go to Home depot and make one yourself and paint it black. lol

Most sites don't allow to order from US.
But this time I have tried and that was successful!
I'm waiting for my MAFci :D
