I was looking at the tein product sheet. The only thing it reuses is the upper mount. I've done a lot of stuff to a lot of cars but never worked struts before. Would it take a special tool to assemble the strut? Don't you have to compress the spring to get it together? Short of that I think I might be able to do it myself. Infact I think it would be handy to just buy 4 upper mount caps and have them assembled at a shop and install them myself. or am I dreamin'. Any drop kings wanna set me straight? If I can ditch some of the install cost I'd really have to go for it.

at minimum youd need a simple manual spring compressor. i think the hardest part of the install was getting the rear struts out, and since then ive learned some ways to do it without taking the entire back seat out. this is a very possible DIY. go for it man

I'll be cracking open the service manuals tomorrow then. Thanks.

Well, I don't know about Gen2s, but from a Gen1's standpoint I've heard that the ABS wheel sensors snap apart pretty easy, so you have to do a few extra things before removing the springs and whatnot, but then again I don't have immediate plans of replacing the springs unless there are ones that do not affect ride quality and height (I have a bad back from an injury AND the car still scrapes a bit at stock ride height)
