the other thought is that the 3.5 may become available for future Solara's. The Solara is not a high volume product for younger and majority of owners are older folks. Toyota should also change the name "Solara" to something like "SLR"-ooops, doesnt someone else call their car that? Do old people buy SLR's? How bout calling it a "Celica", only offer in SE pkg w/ htd leather added, TRD spings, RSB, a more open TRD exhaust (ever hear a v6 350Z scream?) and an 18" wheel option. Also, dont need vsc, 6disc JBL (sounds crappy anyways), elimnate the trip computer with an oil pressure reading, use a space saver spare (to save weight), add a carbon fibre hood - possibly with a small naca duct (to eliminate the too much front end mass and give that intake some freash air), a little more damping on the front end, use a short throw 6 speed from the Tacoma (if possible) and only offer in ONE package trim for v6 and auto crap box only available in 4cyl. This would be one killer Solara-Celica that would have the attention of performance buyers and certainly will get the tuners producing stuff. But this car would be so good on it's own. These and only these changes would be made to the current SEv6 Solara. It puzzles me why the Camry SE on is available in manual with a 4cyl. Toyota executives have that concept completely backards. I think the guy who decided that was responsible for 1998 Corolla wheel covers!
