question....im soo full of questions

now for those of you who "shaved" off your emblems...well explain that process plz...also i'm not sure about the older models, but for the 06, the circular toyota symbol is like embedded in the car skin--if you get what i mean...i'll take pix so its clearer.

I heard that dental floss works to remove it, but DO wear some thick gloves since it cuts your hands (especially since you're a lady and I likes me some smooth hands ). At least you don't have a Honda where it looks über-ugly with 2 holes in place of where the logo used to be since it's held in place by pegs. I haven't shaved mine yet (too lazy), but I'm planning on just removing the worded badge; looks like it's from the 80's or something.

its real easy to do. get a blow dryer, warm up the emblem youd like to take off, take some fishing line or dental floss and slide it down the back of the emblem. if the emblem is hot enough it should just slide right through the tape holding the emblem on. if its not hot enough you may have to heat the emblem up with the blow dryer a few times to get the line or floss all the way through. once the emblem is off you may or may not notice some existing tape left. just take your finger nail and some goo gone, or wd40 and peel the rest off. if the toyota symbol is imbedded in the body of your car i wouldnt take it off, it will look funny. but you could if you wanted. either way, good luck and post some pics of the finished product. it should look nice and clean!

hope this helps, if you find yourself confused, you can also do a search where you may find easier to follow instructions.

The Toyota logo on the trunk and Solara emblem won't look good if removed. You'll need to do some body work to fill in the holes, besides the logo being embedded. Junest ended up taking off the Toyota and V6SLE emblems. Then she got a can of touch up paint (Artic Frost) and painted the logo and Solara emblem to blend with the car. Looks very cool. :D

Just search for it...there's pics of mine that was posted up while back. Besides, this topic has been discussed, time after time.

Usually I groan when I see this topic come up. (Here we go again! ) I did my best search for a thread on painting the rear deck Toyota badge but I either get nothing or everything depending on the search criteria. Junest's CD site doesn't have a shot of it and I couldn't tell on your site either.

If you can remember anything that will help narrow it down, I'd like to put a link to it in this thread.

The actual thread is The Artic Frost Project - Gen 2 Shaved

Here's another thread that talks about shaving emblems.

She never did get around to posting pics and I don't think she cares to update her cardomain. I'll try and get her to do it though, she's just so busy with work and all. I know the paint is holding up, she lightly sanded the emblems before she put down her primer and paint. I did my front emblem the same way, months before hers, and it's still holding up great. I think that was the key, sanding and priming.

sanding and priming it- did she remove it off the car or just left it on and did all the work with it on the car. I wanna do something to the rear of the car since its very stock in the back or just put on a muffler, but with the emblems, i was wondering how the paint was handling the chrome myself, but for little things im thinking about doing that also
