middle

Postby mmcdonald » Wed Jul 06, 2005 5:02 am

I agree with the advice on the middle hole first. The outside is a little too loose given the potential of the set up. I haven't tried the inner hole yet. Waiting for the TRD springs to be installed this weekend.

BTW, at the risk of teeing off those posters who "believe" (blessed are those who have not seen, and yet believe) that the TRD FSTB does nothing, if you don't replace the Front Strut Tower Brace after you add the RSB, then you will feel the front end is very loose if you tighten up the rear end. So you may want to leave it on the outer hole until you replace the FSTB.

thanks for the advice,

now my set up are : trd FSB, TRD-RSB, and BandG drop. The car is about
75 percent stiffer then the sport package. I've been tearin' up Valleyforge
back roads in philadelphia. All i need now are new wheels to grip more road.

I have driven threw the streets of philly and Valley Forge.. You are seriously going to mess up you brand new ride if you keep Tearin It Up.. those are some of the most unforgiving roads I have ever driven.. ( and I have driven roads on the west coast , up and down the eastern seaboard.. throughout Florida.. Alabama.. Mississippi and Louisana..).. if you value your car and the mods you have done to it I would save the tearing up for I-95.. or go to Jersey and tear up one of the four roads... GSP, NJTP, ACXpressway.. or 322 going down toward Wildwood..

Huh?!

Postby mmcdonald » Fri Jul 08, 2005 4:46 am

TRDMIKE3, do you still have the stock Turanzas with that set up? If so, Egads! I think you will notice a world of difference with some new tires and wheels.

I still have the stock wheels but have gone with a unidirectional all season performance tire, and man, what a difference, even before I get dropped.

Tomorrow is the big day. Talk about X-mas in July. :bday:

Thanks for the concern, i feel you bro. I'm taking it easy on my new ride cause it cost to much. I used to have a gold 3rd gen v6 camry the only one with the eribuni bodykit, slammed in philly for awhile. Sadly i crashed it takin on cobbs creek here in philly. worst fillin in my life, it's like losein a member of the family. Took it 130 on AC Xpress-
way. 120 while rainin racin a old M3 on east 76. and last of all showin who's the man on valleyforge.
I'm not lookin for death, but i'm one of the few that knows when to draw
the lines. And sometimes it takes the worst to put us back in place.

I need new wheels though cause, i'm runnin on stock.

Guys, not to be stupid, but I thought the purpose of a suspension is to keep the wheel in contact with the road. IMHO, if your compression or rebound damping is too stiff, it's slowing you down over bumpy terrain. I understood a properly functioning suspension is one that regularly utilizes the full suspension travel.

Hey

Postby mmcdonald » Mon Jul 11, 2005 4:13 am

I got the Avon Tech M550 A/S. They were $110 each from Tirerack. They are the second highest rated tire on the site. They have been working really well on the stock rims.

No hydroplaning in moderate rain at 75, controllable oversteer. Very nice at all speeds I have had them at up to about 100. I haven't been over that.

rsb install

Postby drace99 » Tue Jul 12, 2005 9:18 am

How easy is it to install the rsb? I had trouble with the TRD exhaust and had to take it to a muffler shop (20 bucks on the side). Anyway if I couldn't install the muffler do you think I can install the RSB?

simple

Postby TRDMIKE3 » Tue Jul 12, 2005 6:21 pm

jack the car on both side (use two jacks much easier that way at the same time and height )enough to have clearance to work under da car( to loosen the tension of the swaybar)
remove three bolts on each arm of the swaybar, use wat they gaive u and re-bolt, simple as that.

Pro: 50 percent stiffer
Con: might hear some noise from the oem arms, I lubed everything
under the car to stop the noise, but after a while the noise goes away.

hope that helps you.
