Michael T’s Custom Gen 2 Solara vinyl eyelids

Postby michaels artic frost » Wed Jun 22, 2005 12:02 pm

Hello everyone,

Again as always, I’ve been very busy with “the personals.” Getting straight to the point, this may not be for everyone, so I value your comments and feedbacks. I’ve been toying around with Gen 2 Solara vinyl eyelids for quite sometime now, but designing the perfect ones to accommodate everyone’s taste is tough. So, if it’s not your cup of tea, I totally understand. I was sponsored with some eyelids from autoaccessories.com but felt that it wasn’t the look I was going for.

I currently have these in black, which does match the black perfectly and I have carbon fiber like vinyl. I’m waiting for pics of the cf to be posted from another member. If anyone wants these, please let me know. I'm trying to round up all the colors to color-match the car, so black and cf is a go for now. If this is too much, let me know, but I was thinking $20 shipped. (If Gen 1/1.5 guys wants some, I can look into this) BTW, this does not affect ur day time running lights. :)

Here’s what I’ve designed, enjoy.

-Michael

P.S. Just wanted to say thanks to my friend Jeremy and his good friend for the material. Another buddy came over to help also and we applied it to his ride. Props bro! (I don't have them on mine due to color-matching of pearl...still searching though)

Nice shape. It'll look better w/ your clear corners. Being a Lunar Mist, I can't say I'm in the market but Black and Red owners can have a unique look. Nice work! Planning on producing?

Good Job Michael,

You did a very good job on these. I hope everything works out for the best. Michaels works very hard on all his Mods. You Gen 2 members are lucky. I wish there was a little more dedication in some of the Gen 1/1.5 parts sometimes like Michael has done with you Gen 2 guys/gals.

Good luck with the project.

I wasnt so sure on the look by the pics by its self but with the last pic where there are the 2 cars side by side I see they have quite a unique look to them wich I like.

Having said that I would not make a purchase if they came in my cars color cause its just not my thing to stick a sticker or anything on my car. and thats the only reason

Looks too much like a Camry now with the eyelids. I like the idea, but the cut is too subtle and curvy. I would like a sleerer look that would noticible change the apearance of the headlamp. I would experiment with new cuts that wouldn't hinder the light shining through. I remember seeing a more sleek look on this board, but I also remeber some of the bulb being covered. Just my .02.

Doing big things I see mike. I like the shape too, reminds me a little bit of the flare on the beamers. If i have my car i'd have it on there with NO Amber piece. Haha.
