Stay away from wacky paint jobs or sticker graphics. Also limit the amount of after market stick ons like dorr handle protectors or bumber guards. Probably anything you would buy at pep boys would also suck.
Also try and stay away from spray painting anything inside or outside the car. Ive seen lots of bad "mods" done that way cause they are cheap.
Performance mods cant hurt but dont expect to get your money back on those items when you sell. Even if you wind up selling to another car enthusiast chances are they want to do mods of there own of there own choice. You really cant go wrong with trd parts though. No1 they are covered under your warrantee and no2 a fair amount of research and development has gone into each part so as not to hinder the performance of your car. Just keep this in mind when you start modding, If you were going to buy a used solara would you buy a car modded by just some shmoe who slapped on a few pieces to look cool and do doughnuts in the parking lot? Or would you buy the solara all stock and driven like a normal everyday driver?
Performance mods dont show they make the car run better and faster, and handle more safely and comfortably. By the way, rims are the single BEST way to INCREASE the value of your car. Everybody wants a nice set of rims. Take ANY piece of crap and put rims on it and its value increases.
Sorry for the long answer but it was not a yes or no question. Good luck.

1. Any add-on could possible make engine break down or unstable.
2. Any add-on that leaves sign of modification even add-on has been removed.
3. Any add-on that will break factory warranty. (that’s the key~)
4. Any body construction, include painted and bumper.
I think, that’s about it.

Now, u will realized, any TRD package available today will not break any of previous rules. That’s why factory performance parts r so expensive, and that’s why it makes factory performance part sounds “better.”
But then, I realized that supercharger ganna kill car’s value too, even it’s released by Toyota. I guess supercharger is a big modification.

HINT~
Stickers r HARD to remove after it stays on the car for awhile, and it usually leaves marks on the paint.
So be aware of that.

^ what he said. A car is a depreciating asset, so just have fun with your car and enjoy it while you have it.
