tinting process doesn't damage any effects of the defroster. It is a common misconseption that the defroster eventually leads to bubbles in the tint. If the tinting job is done by a professional, it should last a long time....and you can continue using the defroster as usual!

ask around town (like an auto parts store) where the best place to get tinted is. i just got mine 20% and it looks sweet and i use my rear defroster everyday (nc mountains) and it looks the same as the day i got it. can't you go darker than 35% in florida? if your car came with tint then its probably very close to 35% in the first place. if you get referred to somebody that does a good job, dont worry about it.

Focus,
With 20% tint, does the auto dimming sensor in the rear mirror still work? Does it turn rear bright lights bluish-green still?

Florida legal is 35%, but almost everyone, myself included, has 20% or darker. It's so damn hot here that they do not enforce the tint laws.

yano, i haven't really kept an eye out if the dimming sensor works still, but it really doesnt matter because the tint takes care of any bright headlights for you.. MikeATL: I'll post some pics soon. my car looks so much better w/ the tint now. the darkness of the tint goes together really well w/ the silverish paint. i get so many more compliments on my car now.. it makes it "look" faster (atleast thats what people say, even my mom!)

dude, it's damn near impossible to mess up while pulling of tint. It's like peeling off a sticker. Trust me, I used to tint windows. If you seriously don't trust professionals and would rather do it yourself, here's what you do.

1. Spray some ammonia all over the rear windshield. (Optional)
2. Take a razor blade, and nick an edge (where there are no defogger lines).
3. Just peel...keep your hand close to the window while pulling. this will reduce the amount of adhesive left on the windshield.
4. Once you get all of it off, fill up a spray bottle with Take a soft scrubber sponge and gently rub it against the windshield until you get the left over adhesive off.

Legal limit in FL is actually 27%. So the highest common denomination would be 30%. Just to let you know.[/quote]
