I have the 3 volume factory service manual for the '04 Solara. It has complete instructions for removing/replacing the radio & nav system, all the speakers, etc. The problem is posting this info. I don't have the software to create PDF's, so I could only post them as individual JPG files (one image file for each page), and that's a pain in the a$$.
Then there's this little thing called copyright infringement...
Let me see what I can come up with because I know a lot of folks here would like to see this kind of info, and I would like to be able to share and help out.
I'm open to any suggestions.

Actually these are about the worst factory service manuals I have ever seen. As big as they are, they are poorly written with lame line-drawing illustrations. They are no wiring harness diagrams or electrical schematics at all unless there is an additional (4th) manual for this as was the case for my 89 T-Bird. (Ford's manual was outstanding for that car).
Still, these Solara manuals are way better than nothing.

EDIT: I just found out there is a 4th manual: 2004 Solara Electrical Wiring Diagram (Pub. No. EWD554U). I need to see if I can find a copy of this one.

Here's a little secret that doesn't seem to be well publicized. Toyota, as well as most manufacturers, has a technical website that contains most information about Toyota vehicles. It contains, for each vehicle produced after 1990, the Service bulletins, repair manuals, wiring diagrams, owner's manuals, technicians reference and a bunch of other documents, all it seems in PDF format. The price is $10 for a day, $50 for a month and $350 for a year. Obviously, getting all the manuals for $10 is not a bad deal. I have not subscribed to the service myself, so I don't have more details. Here is the link:
http://techinfo.toyota.com

And here are a couple of FAQ pages from the same site:

I just scanned 14 pages concerning the radio and nav system install procedures and related info and e-mailed them to Michael T. He said he can put them in a PDF so we can get them out to the folks who need this info. THANKS MICHAEL.

If its got as many pages as the other 3 service manuals, its not much less to copy one as it is to buy one. But eventually it may be possible to post scans of the most important sections.
