They look great. Either we get them from that seller at a cut rate or I hope Michael T comes up with his own. That price should be able to go down alot if we have enough quantity. Many other car forums do group buys on sills. Come on solaraguys and girls!

They look real cool, and I might be interested... but where do they go?!?

I can't really tell from the pics... I'm assuming right under where the door closes?

Some people would say they are "running boards". If you open the door they are the long rippled plastic pieces underneath.

If I am not mistaken: these door "sills" are just stickers. It's a strip of plastic sticker with the Solara logo. I ordered a set of MOMO door "sills" before, and they were similar to these peel and stick "sills." My point is if these are just peel and stick sills, you should not pay more than $20 bucks. And that's what these sills look like; peel and stick. $80 is a huge ripoff, $40 is stretching it. Ask for the dimensions, because the MOMO door "sills" did not run the entire running board, it covered about 1/2 of the length. I'm still appalled at the $80 ripoff asking price. I would be cautious.

BTW I never got the MOMO door "sills" to stick onto the door sills. The glue on the sticker was very poor. And it was hard to get anything to stick on the stock door sills. May want to consider using Gorilla Glue to adhere these sticker sills.

They are stainless steel that stick onto the plastic after peeling off the backing. They are not just a strip of plastic sticker. $20 is too little for silk-screened stainless steel running boards.

just a thought... the auction says genuine toyota accessory... if this is so... other dealers should be able to get a hold of this right? anyone care to find out the part number and then we all can call our local dealerships to see if they can get a price on this? (it seems that dealerships have greatly varying prices for the same part numbers... my local dealership being the cheapest I've found for both the black pearl emblems, the wiring harness, and the license plate bracket...)

We may request Acsco to start making for Solara....

I guess noone is willing to take on this project? I am in the middle of moving out of state, plus I don't have the first clue on metals, otherwise I'd volunteer. :-?
