License Plate Bracket & Lower Grill

I believe I'm the one that start this license plate bracket conversation in the Poratble Astray Missing thread; so to keep threads on topix, I initiate to start this thread by posting the pictures of the installed bracket (I hope the photos are shown properly as this is my first time posting photos in this forum). Anyway, the chrome frame is not part of the bracket.

That's cool, I know Junest was looking for one. Because of the accident she's going to get a new bumper w/o holes. But, she might need one if she ever does have any problems out here in Cali. Good find! :D

Anyone have an answer to the initial question? Whether a grill will fit with the license plate holder?

I asked the billet grill person on ebay... his answer was that you would either have to modify the holder or the grill... he assured me that I would be able to modify the grill (ie cut a portion of it off) if necessary...

what about michael's mesh? (darn indecisive me... the black mesh is growing on me again...)

I've got an answer as far as the ebay grill is concerned. You will have to cut about 2.5 inches centered from the top two billets to fit the license plate frame. It's actually pretty easy... I used a sawz allz (sp?)

I will get some pics of the installation as soon as the paint has set and the rain dies down... (few days?)

i like those brackets where the plate bends back as you drive, but if your stopped, its dead straight. Essentially the wind makes its lean backward; saw it once on a ford escort cosworth in UK, that was AWESOME. wanting somethign similar ever since.....

if you don't mind me asking, what's the point of the plate bending backwards?

i guess bending backward was a wrong word to use...The top of the tags are attached to two brackets. they incline backwards when the car is in motion. well in parts of europe, there are stagnant camera radar booths, they just sit by the side of the road, as you drive, your plats inclines toward the back..and thereby making it difficult to take a camera picture of the car speeding...nevertheless, if your caught by an officer...your more than likely stopped and thereby the plates are again facing down..and thereby visible! Its tought to describe it, as it sounds ghetto, but on a sweet ford escort cosworth it looks soo darn good!
