Weekly calls and emails have been on going and they know me by my first name now, I think I've spoken to 3-4 people at Scosche and Metra and they're getting tired of me...lol. There is currently no ETA. They keep on telling me October and last month it was September. So, this month they tell me it should be October. We'll see, I'm not holding my breath, but looks promising.

I've already got my DVD sys, just waiting for the kit.

As for the black lower grill, a certain member here on the forum has yet to do so....aahhemmm....***elbows RED in da stomach for a moment***lol...jk bro... well, lets just say this, the black combo grill is out of my hands and I have no control over it. I'm waiting for pics myself...LOL.

I've got another buyer for the black combo set, as soon as he paypals me, I'll ship it within a few days. I'm sorry it's taken so long. I'm sure you guys that are waiting for the lower grill pics are starting to believe that the BLACK grill is just a myth...lol.

Brian,

Take pics of the lower grill with the OEM upper grill first. Then take some of the combo set. Cus I'm sure there are some out there that just want the lower black grill.

Thanks bro!

Playing around with the idea of a custom dash kit liable to impress even Mike T. Haha. Time is what I have, I don't mind waiting for the so called "Dash Kit" if it does come sometime this fall/winter. BUT if not by Christmas, I'll have to take matters into my own hands. I'm tired of waiting around for companies to do the work for me. I kind of stopped being hopeful since the new camry has more aftermarket parts than our Solaras. Haha.

While browsing, found the dash-kit at below link. I have no idea the quality of the part, but looks quite promising.

This Morning I actually called Mobile Emotions to see if they have it. The guy I talked to said That it is coming in this week and the manufacturer's name is American International. Supposedly he talked to Metra about the dash kit but American International acted on it first. He says that it does fit the 2004 NOT the 2003 Solara. Anyone care to test it? (I'm strapped for cash as it is. LOL.

Has anyone removed the factory head unit? If so, could you post on some instructions on how to get off the dash? I've got the dash kit and wiring harness on order, and looking to put in a Pioneer in it's place.

Speaking of stock stereo, does the NON JBL stock stereo have an external amp somewhere, if so, is it going to work with a regular old Pioneer HU?

Also, thinking about swapping out the rear deck speakers. Any special mounting bracket or instruction on how to get those out?

Thanks for the help!

You can trust it's great quality and look great without seeing the pics, that's how good the chrome one was. But a pic is worth a thousand words so ATLRED, post the pics already! lol

If any of u guys get that dash kit, would u mind posting pics of wut it looks like after install? I don't really like the angle they have on their website. It makes the kit look black and thats the only thing thats keeping me from getting it.

Thanks

It looks black because it is black. I have the kit on order and as soon as it comes in I will post pics of the before and after install. I don't mind being the guinea pig on this one, because I have been waiting for this for months, so black is fine with me.

Jewl,

Did you order the wiring harness also or just the dash kit?

'*HARNESSES ARE SOLD INDIVIDUALLY UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED'

I've looked at that and it does not mention that it comes with the wiring harness.

This is the info that I had gotten from Scosche about the NON JBL stock stereo.NON JBL stock stereo does not have an external amp. Only the upgrade 8 speaker JBL system does and the guys at Scosche told me that it requires a different wiring harness.

BTW...Atlred has not sent me any pics.

I'll be more than happy to host those pics and post them once they're installed.
