Auxilliary Input into JBL Radio (non-navi)

Well, I figured I'd start a new thread because I've acheived a complete sucess w/ hooking up an Aux into the jbl factory radio (w/out navi) -

I have the info on the aux cable used - I'll post it here later on 2nite or tomorrow, for anyone thats interested - Its NEO something or other, I'll edit this post w/ the exact info later on tonight, but I'm just thrilled that theres been some kinda success!

I want to hook up my sirius satellite radio to the aux on my jbl. You say it's not standard RCA female? Lemme know what you found out. Is there an adapter for the RCA male?

I havent posted more, cause i'm still having a grounding issue - it was gone for a while, but came back last night - i'll try to clear it up.


But, basically, you need to get an aux input plug, and then you need to order the converter cable from toyota - and basically, you T-junction into the feed coming from the cd to the radio output

the aux input has rca, so theres a stero mini to rca converter you'll need - and a filter in there somewhere to get rid of the groundingi problems - this i s what im working on now - and the stereo mini will plug into your siirius/xm device

If the Tape in is RCA female, then I already have the converter. It came with the Blaupunkt. That should work then.

Is the grounding problem related to a splice, or is this a problem with a stright hook up like this sounds like?

Aux In anyway. Are they RCA female? If so, I already have an adapter to got from the Blaupunkt to RCA.

i just ordered the neo ion and the aux converter thing and hope to get it by the end of the week.. i was just wondering how you installed it.. how did you pop out the head unit to get to the back? (i've never done any installs like this) where did you run your cables and where are you going to put your ipod?

well, - i didnt do the install myself - i took into to a shop - soooo.. i cant give you advice on takign the radio apart - but... there was a website that showed how to install the xm antenna and basically how to remove teh radio - i dont think its real complicated... find that website to take the radio out

you're probably going to need a converter cable from toyota to fit the neo adapter to the toyota radio also - your dealer should know what the correct part is.

and lastly - i needed to install a filter in the system to get rid of the dc noise...

i went to audio designs in hicksville LI, you can maybe call them for a hint or two

That's a great looking install. I think I will just take it to a shop, then. That's the look I was after.

Did you have to get all the parts yourself, or did the shop come up with them?

the shop procured everything - they were reluctant to go in that area at first becuase the skyfi slides upwards from teh cradle - so i was lookign for them to hinge the cradle somehow, but it worked out just using the regular swivel on the cradle.

I really am impressed w/ how it came out myself - it looks like it belongs there.
