so today I was puttin some armor all on my dash and started pondering, how much do you think some leather seats woudl run for the 04 Solara? I thought it might be a bit pricey because of the side airbags. Sorry if its a repost!

No idea about the cost of leather seats but I would suggest you use something other than Armor All on the plastics of your car. 303 Aerospace or even a leather cleaner. I say this for two reasons: 1) Armor All causes a film to build up on the interior glass and 2) I have noticed slight cracking of soft plastics on cars with Armor All.
Moved on to better things...

Side Airbags

I second that comment on not using Armor All. It will break down your plastic parts.

Regarding adding leather, do not do it if you have side airbags! Your seat cover was designed to work with your side air bags. I'm not saying it can't be done correctly, but it definitely would require extra attention and still may never work correctly like the factory intended.

yeah I was told they'd just remove my side air bags if I had the seats redone with leather, although there is a guy on cardomain that has an awesome custom leather job and I still see those tags on the side of the seat that say about the airbag

I third the motion not to use Armour All. The stuff has discolored or cracked everything that I used to use it on. Oh yea, it looks good for a few weeks - but I'm talking a year or two down the road.

I wanted seat covers to protect the stock seats, but with the airbags it's not worth the possible safety compromise. Just throw a towel over the seat and make sure it doesn't cover the window side of the seatback.

i found maguires makes a protectant the allows you to regulate the shine. i dont really like to make the plastics shiny. for one thing the glare when driving is dangerous and tends to give it a fake look. with maguires it brings out the natural colors with just a touch of shine. the more coats you put on the more shine you get. and by the way you can find leather seat covers that work well with side airbags anf if you do it yourself you can pay as little as 450 bucks. but it never look as good or lasts as long as factory leather. but then again im just not a fan of aftermarket parts. i feel if you can get it factory get it. if you cant , then i look elsewhere.
