Do a search in this forum and Gen1/1.5. Many posts say it greatly improves the body roll. I got mine too and hope to install it soon. Most posters recommend using the middle position on the Gen2 one. I'm going with that choice.

I see you have the springs also. So perhaps they play a factor too. You're lower to the ground so that has to improve turns by itself. How much harsher is the ride with the springs?

The ride is still pretty smooth...sometimes I forget I'm driving a dropped car. I have no regrets going with the springs and RSB.

You say the ride is pretty smooth. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the smoothest ride of course. IMO Stock ride is 10. What is TRD Lowering springs numba?

Thanks,
Michael

Michael, you have the SE Sport which is supposed to be not as smooth as the SLE. So then the SLE should be a 10 and SE Sport a 9, right? Has anyone test drove both and seen any big difference?

Well...I dunno cus I didn't test drive the SLE. My stock ride was so smooth, felt like I wus floatin on air around 65-125 mph. If sport model is 9 and you say SLE is 10, then SLE must be even smoother. Ima test drive an SLE this week if they have one available. The solara inventory is very low here, and they have 2 Toyota dealerships within 25 minutes of each other.

BTW...I saw 4 Gen 2s today on da way to the park, but they were all opposite directions...lol

Take the SLE on a ride on same roads you took going to the dealer to see if rougher rides. Don't pick a very smooth road. Let me know if it feels different in turns too. Thanks.

I just had my TRD RSB installed and had it set at the "competition level" Which is the deepest setting. VERY noticible difference for little $. I want the springs, But the dealer wants over $500 for the install.

Can you define a little more what you mean by very noticeable? Lot less lean on hard turns? Any other effect?

Ok, I would say that the biggest change that I noticed was inital turn in. When I used to throw my solara into a corner hard I would feel noticable body roll, now on the competition setting this body roll is drastically reduced. The car feels much more sure footed and has raised my confidence in performing sudden emergency manuvers. Because the roads are so flat here I really can't say the ride has suffered much.
I wish I could articulate this better, But by far this is the best mod I have done and would reccomend it to anyone.

I was asking more details because I think you might be the first Gen2 person on here to pick the competition setting (innermost hole, right?). I think everyone else picked the middle hole setting and said the body roll was much reduced in turns. I'm having mine installed tomorrow and was going to tell the dealer to use the middle hole. Really wanted to know if competition setting hurt normal non-turn driving at all.

Hey I'm happy to help! The roads are so flat here in Florida that I wouldn't be the best guy to ask how the competition setting affects rough road ride. I would say I do feel a loss in ride quality, but I'll trade some ride quality for handling anyday. Also, after the addition of the RSB I would say that the inadequacy of the stock "pizza-cutter" tires is more apparent.
