It would be the perfect choice I think. The main problem with that is the very very few choice of tire sometime 1 sometime 2 depending on which website you go.

Winters suck up here in PA

Postby crazygreek » Thu Mar 15, 2007 10:49 pm

I am kind of in the same boat. Snows like crazy up here in the winter. Was think the Tein Co would be the ticket but not sure now. Like to have the adjustablity for the winter so I'm not snow plowing but also want to lower the car in the summer. What was the end result?

Tein is really not the solution for our problem.
I wrote them and they confirmed that max/min drop is in a range of 2" to 3" of drop. Also, I wrote them again to ask for Tein S Tech springs but it is only available for I-4 engine Solara (Gen 2) and even if they were made for our car, it would include to change spring twice a year...Now I'm turning toward an other company. JIC Magic, I call them yesterday and I ask them about their C/O. They have like 4 different products http://www.jic-magic.com/SearchProducts.aspx?TopCatID=1&SubCatID=1&CatName=Coilovers I was interesting by FLT-A2 Series but I saw that our car is not listed in the application chart...I saw FLT-A2-VIP Series and the cars listed are luxurious cars...some are big like the Solara. They told me that they would need to have someone local or receive a strut spring EOM to send to Japan for the engineering. I ask them why they cannot ask directly to Toyota to have the suspension spec of our car. He told me that he would answer me back.
Also FLT-A1 Series liste 97-02 Camry/Solara (they share the same platform).

It's where I'm now...I'm hurry to install my new wheels to verify the gap remaining...my winter tire are smaller than the stock 17" by 0.6" on the diameter. C/O it's big money, especially JIC Magic.

I wrote to JIC Magic to ask if they have any plan for our car.

Hi,

I called 1 week ago, I talked to Mike...he gave me an answer, after viewing SUPPORT - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs) section, my question was if JIC Magic may build a 2004+ Toyota Solara SE V6 / Toyota Camry 2002-2006 SE V6 (they share the same platform and engine).
I wish a FLT-A2 VIP Luxury Vehicle Coilover for my car. I don't know if you may find all the specs you need : springs rates, car weight, engine weight, etc...

May you answer me this time please. I want to know what would stop you to do so ??

Thanks !!

Sébastien Laroche

Answer

Sorry about the delay in answering questions. I am not sure at the moment when we will have the VIP suspension for your car. We have not decided if we are going to make on but right now our R&D backed up so we won't wee any update until summer time. Sometimes it can be a basic changes so we could POSSIBLY make one. I will check with Japan.

Regards,

Paul
