Wow... I guess it's possible that the speed limiter is related to the MAF signal. But I never would have guessed it. Anyone know how speed limiter works? Because with cpe the black box is essentially amplifying the MAF signal. That's all. Don't know how that would bypass anything fancy.

Maybe you did something in your two failed installs? Jeff will have to test this for us on his next run to Vegas.

Funny you should mention that... as I too noticed a speed limiter (removal?) going down the 405 about a week ago.

Some damn Acura and a Bimmer decided to blow by me, so I thought I'd try to catch up. Passed the little Integra but the Bimmer kept pulling away.

I know I was going fast (over 100) but wasn't sure as I was looking at the road and my rear-view for cops, and I glanced down and saw I was a little over 130.

As soon as I saw that I backed way down and let them keep flying. Not enough road for that in So Cal! ;)

i will try and do a top speed run but my gf has car most of the time....i've noticed that the throttle lag is much reduced. anyone know how to actually undo the speed limiter? feels like it could go 140-145....maybe 150?

In our setup the only change in electronics is the MAF signal. The ECU gets the same ranges as stock after conversion for tuning and pipe size difference**. There is no other input into the ECU from the MAF. So I'm guessing that one of the other sensors that you disconnect when removing the airbox must be the thing that flags the speed governor.
Only way to test that theory is to see if the Injen folks got the same results. (And maybe just didn't notice it.)

(Or we can ask Jeff to switch back and test for us.)

**The MAF is reading slower velocity in the pipe due to size and the MAF-ci adds 62% to simulate the stock pipe.
