i would just like to post this picture again.

I have no problem with anyone tastefully or distastefully(in my opinion of course) modifying there ride.

I mean im a young guy myself. And yes I understand that when you are eighteen you do some crazy stuff.

BUT BEING EIGHTEEN IS NO EXCUSE FOR YOU TO FAWK UP YOUR PARENTS RIDE.
Please spare me the its not my parents car they bought it for me.

My parents payed for the DOWNPAYMENT on my car, and if my Father ever saw a hole in the center console he would have kicked my butt.

On a final note i dont think people were teasing you about the rainbow fogs. I belive that got sorted out wehn everyone figured out that you had the choice to change the colors and they didnt flash like a rainbow(if they did im sorry thats really.....gay?).

My whole thing is you drilled a hole in you car that is noticable with TWO big wires coming out with a little black box. It is unequivocally VERY VERY UGLY! My whole point was you shoulda have thought of a more discreet place to put your little button

in layman terms

Jeeze people, relax.

JV's pic of the inside of the center console box is really zoomed in. The hole can't be that huge and could be cleaned up and covered. The changer just needs to be mounted to make it clean looking.

As for the colors, it's a novelty. Just like neons under the car. I imagine most of the time it will be in a color matching the headlights. Several very well respected members here have neons that cycle through the colors. (I never hear their rides referred to as clown cars.)

JV, nice work. It will look good when all the finishing touches are in place. Thanks for taking the risk and initiative, and most of all, thanks for posting up here.

It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but someone had to try it first.

To the rest of the SG community, give a little credit to members that are trying. Try to be a bit more respectful when sharing your opinion. At least his car is not still stock like some of you out there.

^^^ (martins reply) hahahahaah
anyways....when i did my ipod thing, i just popped the cigarette lighter thing back into the console and strung it thtough there....it might be a giant circle hole, but my ipod covers that space anyways so u cant see it AND
ITS ALSO REVERSABLE to i can put it back and no more hole....
anyways....yea i would never drill unnecessary holes, i would always try to not do anythin irreversable to my car but hey thats just how some of us are
good job though on doing something different, im sure ull enjoy it and im sure others do as well

o and dude dont clump us "teens" together
im 19 and i dont just do "sh!t" to my car but im not saying u did either....just dont say stuff like that

I used to have a 2001 Nissan XTerra with the supercharged V-6 & 5spd. I mounted some gages in the center console which required some drilling. When I removed the gages, I cut a sheet of black vinyl decal and placed it over the inside of the console area. It looked just like factory.

The Gen2 console box is deep and you can hide it well. I wouldn't sweat it. The double sided tape is a good idea if this is where you planned to mount the switch.

It looks like you were just CLOWNING around HAHAHAHA.You posted the picture of this horrible mess and then ask the question what do we think about it, so we told you.You say you used a drill bit to make the gash, looks like you duct taped a screw driver to the end of a Buffalo drill. If my son did this to my Solara I would whip his ass with a Hot Wheels track(old school). :evilbat:

Why not use these, since these fit the same way oem do and do not bulge out.
