Mark the date on the calander... PXL's reality check came through. We all go through it and sooner or later we all realize, this sweet ride is never going to be a monster. In two years you'll be fine with it. (assuming the lag is fixed.)

LOL! Well, yeah - it's tough though sometimes... it just FEELS like this car should have more pull than it does when you get on it. :-?

If I can ever get the lag issue resolved, it will be worth it to put in the CP-e and live with things as they are... until somebody comes out with another solution at least. I'm not holding my breath.

The sad part really is that with the engine used in so many ways that no one has created any internals to accommodate for more power. For example forged pistons and rods to help withstand forced air induction or nitrous. Seems to me someone would want to try and beef up an RX330 or Sienna (Gen 2) some where down the line…

Guys,

My friend installed a 100shot fogger system. 1/4miles numbers:

Stock setup with no catalytic converter on 20's 14.87

Stock setup with no catalytic converter on oem wheels 14.61

With the NO2 system on OEM wheels 13.54

This was with no tuning. he will take it to the shop this saturday to fine tune the setup. He says the car run smooth, no tranny problems or VVTI problems.

Hey, I'm feeling the same like you. Remember this is a friends car, eventhough I've seen the NO2 set up, I really have my doubts about the time. More with our cars that are a little overwheight. The car will be on the shop on saturday, and later at night he will go to the strip. I'll try to go to see how the cars does. Nevertheless I think the NO2 is a good, and "cheap" way of adding some power to our rides. By the way he told me that to change the spark plugs it is a pain in the ass. will keep you posted on how this project goes.

Overweight, who's car is overweight? Remember ours is 3200 lbs, the G35 is 3500 lbs. It's overweight compared to a say mini cooper S or tc but I would hardly call it overweight. Another reason why when I bought the car I had extremely high expectations for this motor and car...

It is my opinion that the Solara, for its power its overweight. Mostly in the front end (yes and I know it is a fwd) but comparing it to a g35 is like comparing apples and pears. 298 hp @ 6,400 rpm 3,550 lbs rwd vs 225 hp @ 5600 rpm 3,230 lbs. The power to weight ratio 8.39 (g35) vs 6.97 (solara)i'll take the g35 anytime, if I had the $$. This is why I choose my lady solara, because bang for buck toyota, is always the best.

A more real life scenario will be comparing it to the accord and or pontiac g6:

Accord 225 hp @ 5600 rpm 3,364lbs fwd p/t/w 6.69
Pontiac G6 240 hp @ 6000 3,525 fwd p/t/w 6.81
With this 2 last examples you do the math; solara is way better and best priced.

The bottom line is: It is MY OPINION that the solara is heavy, and this is not the topic of my post. We can post an additional topic about this and go from there. My post is about a friends car that installed a nitrous system which I find interesting and want to know your comments about it. Please keep to the topic or start a new one about weight in our cars, maybe something good goes from there (tips for weight reduction, etc)

I love speed, but I'm more into daily driving comfort, music, video, handling etc. Although, sometimes I have the cravings to go over 100.
