Improper grounding is bad news, I'd replace the double sided tape with any thickness of rubber.

I'm certain I'm not stalling (still accelerates).

Weird thing is, the lights only come on when the lights come on automatically while I'm driving (ie, not when I turn the lights on by myself...) I'll have to play around with it a bit...

ive got a question.... i've read up on HIDplanet (as im guessing most of you have) on the ban of HID kits, causing companies like McCulloch to stop making kits. Does that mean that its illegal to have ANY hid kit installed on ur car? Even one's that emit just a pure white color (no blue tint, like the 5300k)?

Again, HIDPlanet is the best source, but from what I've read:

HID Kits are illegal to import, PERIOD. The reason is that these HID kits are being put into projectors and reflectors that were never designed for HID bulbs. The result is ultra bright light going into the eyes of incoming traffic. Our stock projectors handle HIDs very well compared to others but there are just too many exceptions to allow HID kits to be made legal here.

OEM HIDs require auto-levelers that ajust the light so to avoid blinding incomming traffic when the car is unbalanced, like when you have a heavy weight in the trunk. OEM Halogen units don't.

There is some question though that OEM HIDs are infact illegal too. There is a law that states that you can't have blue lights on your car (for obvious reasons) and that the color spectrum generated from HIDs violates this law. I doubt anything will ever be done about it though.

Law staets this.... law states that....

Isnt porstitution legal in Nevada?..... but its illegal in any other state..

What?!.... Nevada special cuz they have vegas?!

HID kits may be illegal.... to me its all a grey area, I have been pulled over, blasting my headlights and fogs, both with 8000k HID.... and the reason why I get pulled over is because my tint is supposedly too dark.

This raises another question... I thought the damned constitution for this stupid country pretty much left room for man to live freely.

First ammendment gave man the right to express himself..... why is it that law comes and contradicts this?

I do understand that some idiots out there are not being conservative with their mods.... and that messes it up for everybody, I know that oo dark a tint does not allow cops to see what's happening in a car when they pull it over.... I also know about the blindness caused by HID lighting.

But lets face the facts, a Cadillac Escalade comes with HID lighting, their bumper line is higher than a regular car, meaning the bulbs also sit higher.

when one of them come and stop behind you.... your eyes are in for a treat.

I havent seen anyone pulled over for this in New York, as of yet.

So, Im sorry for rambling on, but it gets on my nerves what law states, and how you can represent it, according to the constitution and ammendments.

But, HID's to the best of my knowledge are not illegal, at the same time, the companies that sell them, post " for offroad use only" on the packaging. Take your pick.... I did, Im not going to tell anyone to buy this, because it all depends on the stupid cop that wants to harrass you at the time.

BTW.... I have 2 cousins that are officers, a PBA card comes in handy.... lol

Hope everyone has fun, and really mods the hell out of their Solaras.... I spanked a civic with a gsr engine in it the other night.... once i got up to 95, he backed out.... Always happens... I swear Imma get spanked one of these days...

First off, porstitution is illegal is Las Vegas, you have to go outside the city for it to be legal.

Second, you can't blame cops for harrasing people that endager the lives of others by blacking out their windows and blinding other drivers. I don't like cops anymore than the next guy, but come on, we all know there are idiots who insist on putting HIDs in Neons and adjusting the focus to the sky so everyone can admire their bling bling luxury POS with plastic rims from kmart.

Any SUV can blind any car with their hallogens or HIDs, I hate SUVs because of this and have no problem with them rolling over and killing their soccer mom drivers.

I would be suprised if any of us got pulled over for HIDs in our Gen2s as long as they are aimed properly. I live in the South were the most popular car mod is spinners, and duct tape is the redneck chrome. Maybe cops are more strict on the west coast although i know a few people who have been pulled over for tints darker than 35%.

I'm all for pushing the limits of the law as long as its reasonable, but there will always be idiots who go overboard who are just asking to get pulled over.

ATL?!

I been there before.... nice place... me likes.

Cops out in Georgia are rough, I had my Stanza, and was victim of a hit and run.... I was in the car, and the other guy fled.

I loved Atlanta, becuase it is a clean city, I drove thru some of the rough areas, and have seen worse here in NY.

And, understanding how the cops are down there, and the pressure they are under. I respect what a cop does, I have 2 in my family..

But, there are some peepeeheads out there, that should learn how to deal with people a lot better. Like I said before, a PBA card comes in handy. No tickets are testament to that.

But, for God's sake... my tint is Toyota OEM!!!!! it has the PPG tempered tint emblem!

I really dont care though, cops will always continue to harrass people, especially if they presume something.

Drive safe people...

Oh yeah, thanks for clarifying the prostitution thing.... I put that in there, because I always found it to be hilarious. :D

lol

bluesolara: high-five!

sydemoid: Thats pretty wack getting pulled over for stock tint. If thats the only reason you were stopped the cop must have looked like an idiot after testing how dark they were (the law is 35% here).
