vvt-i emblem

VVT-i stands for intelligent Variable Valve Timing. It represents most of the engine type of Toyota. It ensures timing that's ideally suited to the condition of the engine. This results in an improved spread of torque throughout the rev range as well as better fuel economy and reduced emissions.

Do you guys know if they make the chrome accents for the black rubber/plastic on the bottom of the side windows (front and back). My co-workers have it on thier new Camry's and was wondering if there are any for the Solara.

Astro or June - how are the door handles holding up ? Are they peeling at all or discoloring ? Just kinda curious about the quality of the item.

PXLPainter, if you're talking about the chrome door handles, do a search for "solora" (two o's) on ebay... you should see a few auctions.

Are the original door handles attached with double-sided tape? If so, how do you remove them? Is the adhesive for the chrome handles as strong?

They are merely chrome covers or "shells" that attach to the surface of the original handles. Once applied, you can't feel any looseness or wobble - they adhere very well and fit snug. The only way you can tell they're there at all is you can feel the lip on the edge of the covers when you open the door.

they look pretty darn cool...for a chick car. the chrome offsets the wheels and isnt too much contrast with the pearl white. the beige top also bends perfectly. dont think will work as well on any other colour. well done!

Thanks for the information, I checked on ebay and there are two different people selling it, one from Hong Kong and the other is from California.

Are the ones you have from Hong Kong, they seem to look better without the design on the front of the handles. When you go to grab the door handle, is the lip smooth, it will not cut your hand or anything right?
If we ever decide to remove the chrome door handles, do you think the double sided tape will take off the paint from the orginal handles?

I also have a lunar mist color, does it look really nice with it? I can't really tell from you pictures. Do you really have all those mods on your car or are they all photoshop onto it. Just kidding with you.... I couldn't even tell from the pictures you did with the grills. Very Very professional and skilled.

No - the photos I did in This Thread (click here) are the real deal - not Photoshopped at all... but thanks for the complement. After all, that IS what I do for a living (check out my WWW button for a link to my professional web site). ;)

The covers I got are completely smooth - as they appear in the photos... not the covers that have the ridge lines in them. I thought those looked pretty nasty IMO. You can feel an edge but they're not sharp and can't cut your hand in any way.

The tape they use is similar to the rubberized 3M tape that comes on the OEM - not the cheezy commercial stuff you get at Home Depot. I'm positive this tape won't hurt your paint - but it also won't come off before you want it to. ;)

Hope that helps... good luck!

Jeff

PS - if you get the covers from the Lees in Hong Kong, you actually get two sets and 3ea of the button covers (both with holes for locks and without) so you have a backup set in case anything should happen to your originals.
