Looks good. I'm thinking of purchasing the upper and lower for mine.

Hi,

I looked at your earlier post with the pic from the showroom floor (very, very nice). Your Solara came without a spoiler? I've seen only 1 without a spoiler in person and only 2 (including yours) on the internet. What are your thoughts on the spoiler? If you get a chance, please read my post under "2007 Solara spoiler options". By the way, the grill is really nice...think I'd like to get one. Thanks.

Mekamitchwill? Wow! That's quite a name. Welcome to SG. I read your posting on spoilers this morning, but the link you included was incomplete, so I didn't take the time to investigate further. Now, after you replied to my posting on the grille, I went back, cut and pasted the information you had inside the () and figured out what you were referring to.

I may have liked spoilers at one point in my life, but when they became so common, I stopped liking them as much. I think they work on some cars and not so well on others. On the Solara, I think they look better on the Gen1's than on the Gen2's like you and I have. However, the lip spoiler that the 2004 comes with on the sports model SE is about as much of a spoiler as I would want on that style. I am totally pleased with the spoiler-less, molded spoiler-look that my car has. It's already hard enough to see what's behind me when I'm backing now; if I had a real spoiler, it would be even worse.

I understand what you mean about the hatchback look, but that doesn't bother me so much. It only looks that way from certain angles. It doesn't take much movement around the car before you see the stretched-out view from the sides. The car was made that way deliberately, and if you want to effectively re-design that look, it will take a very large wing which would otherwise change the whole look of the rest of the car. I am not a modifyer unless I have a very good reason for it based on my own tastes and needs. But I don't knock anyone who wants to do whatever he or she wants to do with their own cars. I rather like keeping my car as true to itself as possible. At the end of the day, it seems to have more dignity that way.

Thanks for your response. And thanks for posting more pics from more angles...the one beside the Solara with the spoiler is very helpful. It's not really the angles you referenced that I don't care for -- it's more from the back. When I'm approaching my car from its rear, I'm just not crazy about the spoiler. I actually asked my husband to take it off today just to see what we'd think. We both like it probably as much as (or more than) if I'd installed a Sport spoiler. I will likely use the money I would've spent on a new spoiler to have the holes filled and painted. And please pardon my misspelling "grille" -- I'm not a modifyer either -- well, I wasn't until now :)

Before posting this I must have checked at least 50 sites for that grill. If you don't mind my asking, whom did you purchase that grill from?

Of course I don't mind. Thanks for asking. Mine is a
Precision Grille which I bought from http://www.woodview.com in
New Jersey, but they got it from Precision Grille in
California and it took over a month for me to get it.
You can actually order it directly from
Precision at http://estore.websitepros.com/2296479/Search.bok
The prices are very close to being the same. Also check out
http://www.yourhotcar.com
http://www.Trenz.com is suppose
to have them, but I could never get their site to work correctly
for me. Jimmm

(Thanks to David for the date correction) It arrived this afternoon by FedEx from west coast, 32 days after I ordered it, so I could not wait to put it on. I got home about 10:00PM. These pics were hastily taken with my cell phone in poor garage lighting. Stay tuned for outdoor shots with a real camera. Jimmm
