Neon Lights on Solara??

Has anyone ever put lights in the engine bay so you can see in there at night.

(Like when you're checking the oil or trying to find out where that dripping is coming from.)

I did in my Tundra - it was great! :D

I'm thinking more like LEDs that are just under the lip to the doors and possibly under the bumper in the rear to act as backup/curb lights as well.

I think in show cars they're cool to see colored lights though. I've only seen a couple go down the freeway with them on. I don't get why they're illegal if they are white or amber. Big rigs have had tons of lights over the years and adhere to a strict lighting code as well (more up north than you'll see here in CA though).

Don't do the neons, they are for posers.

I have the underbody LED kit on my car. I like them, it makes the car look like its floating. I drive around with them on and haven't had any problems from the police. As long as the lights are not blue, it shouldn't be too big of a deal, especially here in Atlanta. I think its real neat when people coordinate the lights tastefully throughout the car.
