Sorry, man. I guess I let this one fall into a crack. I was offline for quite a while in May. I don't remember seeing this much discussion.

I have pics at home, and I'll probably post later this weekend, but essentially I think I saw the same recessed mounting that joebxr and others have. Add to that the fact that I had to cut a little plastic to put it in, and add to that there there was still some force that had to be applied to get it to line up right, and I just wasn't thrilled with it.

For me, it was a nice looking grill, and the quality of the build was okay, but the fit just wasn't as good as I wanted.

I ended up returning the grill (full refund, btw) and I'm running a stock grill now (which is why I've been asking about the 2.5 grill).

Bottom line: It fits. It just fits a little different than the stock grill.

Here's the pics. Again, I think the fit is fine. I just wasn't thrilled with it.

Note that the overhang really isn't that much. I was more bothered by the recess along the sides. You can see it a bit in the first picture of the Trenz grills. On the back side of the grill, you can see lip of the bumper and how it is positioned out from the grill. For the stock grill, this edge was flush.

Also, just for completeness, here is a look at the plastic tabs that hold the bottom of the grill. If you look at the tab on the drivers side (right), you can see where I cut it back (on the outside edge) about a half inch to get the grill to fit.

Good luck any who want it. It IS a nice grill.

Thanks for the pic bro !!

I still hesitate between trenz ($$$) and the Gen 2.5 Grill.
Like you wrote in an other thread there is 2 model of that Gen 2.5 Grill ?
I would like to see in a close-up because all the pics I saw already were from a bit far. I didn't see yet the split line in the middle of the grill. Did you see in person...did you took some pics ??

Yeah, I have seen the 2.5 grill close up, but no, I have no idea why there are two part numbers for it.

The line that runs through the middle (horizontally) is not actually a line. It's actually a depression in the grill. Like a groove, or valley, that runs from left to right across the grill, with the 'sombrero logo' in the middle. I would rather they have left this feature in the mold out. But I didn't think it looked too bad. I didn't take any pics. But I will if I get the chance.

Also, some people have been calling it a honeycomb. It's actually a cross-hatch.

My opinion right now is that I still prefer the 2.5 grill over the 2, but am considering other options too.
