I would change the filter to an Injen or something else. HKS filters were very popular many years back on turbo setups in Japan. It was easy to breathe through, but didn't filter well. But I guess it was just better than running an open turbo.

The Injen filter can be comparable to the K&N in this test, since they are both oiled filters:

Just installed the Injen on my car.
I like the way it feels especially on the highway.
