Just to lighten things up a bit (and to show it's not THAT big of a deal)...

When you said "go put your Helmet on, get on your short bus", it totally reminded me of the South Park episode where Cartman was acting retarded to win the Special Olympics. Your line actually made me bust out laughing thinking about South Park.
