Gen 2 Side Molding

Postby cablemn » Thu Jan 27, 2005 8:11 pm

I think it looks fine. Sure I'd prefer the world to be a perfect place where you can park your car anywhere and not worry about some ahole swingin their door open in a parking lot right into your door. But the world sucks. We've all seen it or experienced it. Most people dont even think its a big deal. I had a woman swing her door open and dent my door while i was sitting in it. I had a funny feeling when she parked next to me and sure as sh1t, bang! I got out and laced into her and she had the nerve to say "whats the big deal? Its just a little ding, my cars' full of em." Theres no dealing with people like that. The only thing left to do is protect your car the best you can, and if that means body side molding then i'm all for it. Of course you have to try and camouflage it and make it blend in as well as possible which i think this plain stuff color coded exactly to your car is pretty damn good. Hey, i live in New York, its a gdamn battlefield out here! Maybe someday when i live in Sticksville, Kansas i can own a car without unsightly side molding but until then i'm getting it. BTW i found the stuff for cheaper searching the net and i'll post the results when i finally get the stuff.

I am curious where you found the mouldings cheaper. I am using a company local to me here in Cleveland. I am not against less expensive but I am against cheaper.

By the way, your perfect world comment is right on the mark.

^^^WERD!!!^^^Makes a wax job harder if ya ask me.

Honestly, I'm just not a fan. Plain and simple. Dents, you will get and they're inevitable. If you like it and feel that it may save you from a ding here and there, by all means...buy it. Price is okay, besides...it's color-coded to match your car. Try getting something like that painted at your own expense. My lambo kit cost me more then that to get painted.

If you find a lower price online, post it to help others.

Agreed with Shoe. Back on topic...straight to the point, the mouldings take away from the sexy lines that make this car look so smooth. It's just that i'm a fan of sleek, smooth looking body lines on vehicles.

I contacted a company called trim-gard at www.trim-gard. com and they refered me to a local store called trim king. i was quoted a price between 40 and 60 dollars for the parts more if i wanted them to install it. Im in Long Island NY. I have yet to see the product up close as of yet but i intend to when i have some time. Although the pictures i have seen of it looks the same and they are made of the same material.
