Gen 2 OEM CONVERTIBLE WINDSCREEN

Ambivalent Owner

Postby jeancyril » Mon May 30, 2005 3:33 am

I have a windscreen and as the title says I am somewhat ambivalent that it reduces much. Because there were holes to cut to install the windscreenI paid the dealer ~ $200 for the installation plus $285 for the part. (As I am leasing, I did not want to take this on myself). Te screen eliminates the seat belt flapping, but I can't say that I never noticed any wind coming from behind. The screen extends over the back seats so you can toss anything in the back seat and it won't fly out. Of course you lose the two back seats with the screen on. I guess it works, but I am still grumbling about the price.

Almost a year since this post... can't find this windscreen (new or used) anywhere! I was told in Feb that it should be re-released in March. Anybody know/hear any updates on it yet?

I'm seriously considering manufacturing something on my own at this point!

I finally got one!!

It works like a charm - no more flapping or wind noise! Check out my installed pics here: http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=25209

The seatbelts, from wind. Mine seatbelts only make noise with the top up and windows down. When the top is down, the seatbelts don't move.

Mine always flapped like big friggin bird was in the back seat! Almost louder than my TRD muffler! ;)

Just tuck them into the seat. They'll stay there forever. But I guess your new toy is another way. My nieces got in the back seat last week and I had to tuck them in again after two years.
