Let's see some pics!!! Are you saying you bought a used Trenz grill?

Its not used, came brand new, the Seller had bulk of them. Here is the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... ename=WDVW Sorry for any confusion, but the grills looked the same to me.

I can take pics, but I am not comp literate enough to upload them on here, but I'll try. Worst comes to worse, I will email them to someone and they can post them. :::Runs out to the car::: Be back in a few.

Wow...the lower grill looks nice...it's going to be a tough decision between the mesh and this one.

BTW, is it required in New York to have front license plates? I think the car looks cleaner without a front license plate.

Your car looks clean to me. Love that red. Two questions. How does the grille stay in place(how was it fastened)? Where did you get that license plate holder? Looks nice.

The Trenz grille itself I think looks very nice but the horizontal stripes clash with the vertically striped OEM top grille. If you did both grilles with Trenz, I think it would look better. The ultimate look I think is both grilles by Trenz somehow keeping the Toyota emblem in top grille or both grilles in Michael's mesh grill with the emblem. Just my opinion.

I walked into the showroom, saw it on the floor, walked up to the car, and told the salesman, I want this one right here. They drove if off the floor infront of me, Id love that red also.

The grill is held in place by 3 twistie tie things. The black fasteners when you put one end thru the other and pull. Yeah, I know, Im real technical. It doesnt require anymore than that. You wrap them around the markers on the grill then around the 3 front bars in the openin. Of course, you'll have to unfasten the oil pan to get in there though.

And I also agree that both matchin grills would look better. Just happens that I bought this car, then paid for this semester tuition at about the same time. Im low on cash and will be doin a few things at a time. Ideally, I would like to get the trop grill also..in time. License plate cover I got from Pep Boys, since it matches the CF like interior planes. I also bought a CF shifter. I was lookin into the CF front bra but they dont fit the Sport models. Probably just as well. Let the whole car fade evenly.

I have the same grille from e-bay if anyone is interested in another photo:

http://www.angelfire.com/ky3/gabby/solara_f.jpg

Fortunately in KY we don't have any front license plates :)

Rather than use the 6 black plastic zip ties that came with the grille, I installed it with about sixteen pieces of 22 gauge bare copper wire that I used like twist-ties around the 4 black plastic vertical posts in this space. I then painted them with some flat black touch-up paint. It took a couple of hours to do but I think it looks great and the grille is in there really tight and secure, and these fine wires make for a virtually invisible mounting, even if you look at it up close.

I kind of agree with slingshot who said, "Trenz grille itself I think looks very nice but the horizontal stripes clash with the vertically striped OEM top grille", but I think the empty lower space below the front (upper) grill looked so bad that just about anything I added there would be an improvement! When I first looked at the car I actually thought a grille was missing down there until I realized all the Solara's at the dealership were like that!

My only decision now is should I paint the lower grille black? I still can't decide what would look best.

I wouldn't paint it black. It looks just fine with your car color.

Thanks, I'm leaning in the same direction (to leave it as is). BTW we have almost the same car, except I'm minus the Nav system.

I looked again at that EBAY website and believe that billet grille is NOT the Trenz grille but a copy of it. The Trenz grille has a choice of different finishes. Therefore, if you buy the EBAY lower billet grille and buy the real Trenz expensive upper grille, it might not match. Chances are, you might have to wait till whoever made the Ebay grille comes out with their own upper matching grille.

True. I think the ebay grille looks better anyway.... the trenz grille has a border around the bars and the ebay grille doesnt. It looks as if the bars are coming out of the car (and, therefore, part of the car) and not put on as an aftermarket product. Plus it's CHEAPER. I just want the set.

Agreed it looks better than the Trenz. Too bad no option for a matching upper one with or without a Toyota emblem (at least yet).

Heres a pic of my car with the grill. (Not too great of a pic of the grill) The company selling them on ebay has no plans in the immediate future to release the upper grill, although they do plan on releasing one.

PS- We have the "front plate" law but there is no way im puttin holes in my bumper. Ill pay the $65
