GEN 2 Grille

I'm new on here and I was just wondering if anyone knew where I can get a set of upper and lower grilles for my 06 Solara. I see that Michael T is no longer selling them. Let me know. Thanks

Gen 2 grille

Postby jimmm » Tue Apr 14, 2009 3:56 pm

Hey Knick! Welcome to the group. Have you tried http://www.woodview.com/customer/home.html I ordered a bumper grille from them for my 04, which I'm expecting anytime now. They don't have anything listed for the 05 or 06, but if you call the 800 number, dial ext. 816 to speak with Steve. He seemed very knowledgable and was very helpful to me. Good luck!!! Jimmm

sup knick. welcome to SG. Its interesting that when Michael first came out with the grill idea the first few pages of the thread were critics, and now its one of the most sought after grills for gen 2. you and me both mang, looks like we missed it. Jim (in motion), lemme know how that 04 grill works out! Post up some pics once you get it installed. :)

Gen 2 Grille

Postby jimmm » Tue Apr 14, 2009 6:02 pm

YOU BETCHA I WILL, YADDA.... Ever since I got my gen 2, I've thought that the face looked kind of plain compared to the rest of the dynamic design of this car. It looks rather like a shark without teeth.

Here is a picture from the woodview.com site of what they offer for a top and bottom grille made of billet alluminum:

And this is what it would look like with the billet at the bottom only:

I prefer the bottom look for my car because I want to keep the gold Toyota badge. If I ever change my mind, I can always order the top billet later on.

To solve that temporarily while you're waiting for grills, try this:

I checked out the Grilles on woodview.com but the ones on that white Solara are only for 07 and up. It seems to be really difficult to find grilles for a 2006 Solara. Thanks for all the responses to far.

Gen 2 Grilles

Postby jimmm » Wed Apr 15, 2009 9:08 am

Is it possible that the 04, 05, and 06 grilles are interchangeable?

I think the 04,05 and 06 grilles are interchangeable but I'm not 100 percent sure.

the gen 2 grills should all be interchangeable. the gen 2.5 grills are smaller though.

Gen 2 Grilles

Postby jimmm » Wed Apr 15, 2009 9:45 am

Hey Knick. I was just doing some research for you and it appears to me that the top grilles are the same for 04,05, and 06. I would guess that the bottom cutouts are the same size also. Check out this site where they are showing the same top grille for 2004-2006. Maybe you should call Woodview.com back and ask specifically if they do not show grilles for 05 and 06 because they are the same as 04. Anyway, look at this:

Yeah they are the same. That should definitely help. I called woodview and the guy I spoke to said that the only Grilles they have are the ones similar to the ones in the pic you posted above on the red Solara. The difference is that they don't have the outline so I'm not sure how that would look since there isn't a pic of it. Is that the ones that you ordered?

Yes, I ordered the bottom grille like the one on the red car. Now that I look at the invoice, it says it is for 2004-06

CUSTOM ORDER Options:ITEM TYPE: REPLACEMENT PART
NOTES / ITEM #: # PG-807201 - Toyota Camry Solara 2004-2006, Precision® - Classic Billet Bumper grille.

$ 104.00$ 0.001$ 104.00

ORDER NOTES:
steve @ext 816 Subtotal: $ 104.00
Shipping: $ 0.00
Tax: $ 0.00
Total: $ 104.00

The PG stands for Precision Grille. It was actually $89.00 plus 15.00 shipping. It should arrive soon. I believe the top grille is $140.00 and combined is $229.00 plus shipping (whatever it's calculated to be).

That price doesn't seem bad. When you put them on can you send me a pic? You have been very helpful. Thanks

cklinh actually had a pretty good find up there in the link he posted! too bad my car is black, but before the grill, you can look into removing those plastic covers. thanks for the woodview site jim, there's a lot of good products in there.
