grill / emblem painting

I don't know if this constitutes as an upgrade. but then I don't know if it'd belong in the stock section either. I want to repaint the grill, and I was thinking of getting some black emblems but then found out that they were $100+! i'm sure nobody in their right mind would spend that much money on something like that so I figure I'll just paint it while I'm workin on the grill. I tried to look in the tutorial section but didn't find anything.

It might sound very basic, but I wanna do this once and I wanna do this right. So for those of you who have done some DIY painting, what kind of spray works best? And on average, how many coats of clear would be sufficient? Thanks in advance.

if you remove them, becareful. there are 2 little things that stick out from the emblem on the backside.

anyways, if you paint the front toyota emblem, ae you going to match the rest?

i'm gonna take it off because I need to sand down the 'chrome' first. biggie, by "2 little things" you mean the stubs that stick into the holes in the trunk right? i know the toyota sign has em, does the solara too? and yeah I will be matching the rest.

they're just little tabs for alignment for when you installing them. so they are in a straight line.

Are they held on with double stick tape like the others? or is there a trick to getting them off?

That's the same paint I used for my front grill (before I painted the same color as my car.

But I also used that paint on my emblem as well. It's good paint.
