hello guys, i understand that this question has been asked a million times. i did a search, but didn't find any detail about what i'm going thru.

i would like to fit a tein super street meant for the solara into my ride. the chassis number is the same, ACV 30 R. tein part number: SY060-01225 SG030-01250

any fellow friends here care to share if its possible?
and also, could you elaborate on the ride comfort? the main intension of getting a coilover is less for lowering the car, cos singapore government loves to put humps all over the road. and the kerbs are 1/2 a foot high :x

thank you millions! :D i've attached the camry we are recieving here. looks abit different from the ones you're recieving right?

The Camry for the Southeast Asian market (Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.) are basically the same but the front and rear fascias are German-like in design. I believe the Camry is a bit more upmarket in these areas (think almost equivalent to the Avalon.)

The platform is still the same, however. I'm sure you can find Teins for an equivalent generation US/Japan market Camry, they should fit just fine.

Check out the rest of the pics of the Camry, looks cool actually.

East and Southeast Asia
The Camry in Taiwan and Malaysia of this generation looked very similar to other versions, but the front end had a "thicker" grille and larger, all-white, differently shaped headlights [3]. The reverse lights were moved onto the trunk and were somewhat similar to the lights on a second generation Avalon's trunk [4]. The older models from 2002-2003 had tail lights with a white streak across them [5], while models 2004 and later did not [6]

so, i suppose fitting the Teins meant for solara into my ride is not gonna have any problems???

yes indeed, the specs here are pretty decent, its faux wood trim as standard, and theres climate control, reverse sensors as standard. all camrys in singapore are automatic too (don't know if thats a good sign) i did a research on the avalon... and it seems like the specs are close to it...

now the thing would be... hows the comfort rating of Tein SS like?

cheers dudes! 8)

P.S: singapore toyota club forum just isn't moving. no one really knows their stuffs. this place is way happening. :D

I don't think there will be any problems at all. :) I don't know about the comfort rating, though. I haven't researched these things since I don't have money for them yet. ;)

in fact i did. i had came up with a list of options actually. koni yellows, KYB, Tein SS and D2

but from my findings, tein SS could be the most value for money. taking into consideration that:
1. it may last for a very very long time (i don't track). anyway, in SG, one can keep a car for 10 years before most owners scrape it away.
2. Tein SS is second to the more comfortable (i think Koni is as good as stock, but gives slightly better handling)
3. Teins have good reputation, no leaks, and is made in Japan.
4. adjustable damping! :evilbat:

taiwanese brands shock absorbers aren't really common in singapore. the only one i know so far is D2, designed in USA, manufactured in taiwan.

any input from you guys about the Super Street will be greatly appreciated 8)
