I did a lot of Google-ing at work today then went to R.E.I. The Yakima rack seems to be the way to go as they use round bars (Rather than square bat like Thule) which allow the extending stabilizing bars to contour to the roof better. For all the needed pieces it is going to be $370. Not out of the question, but I wanted to stay in the $200 range. I also have seen a lot of these racks on craigslist..........and if it is a newer model I can just order new attachment points for the Solara.

I can't subject someone to sitting in the middle of the back seat. But, generally for a short day or two of boarding with one or two buddies I don;t think it would be too bad to just stuff everything in the back with one seat folded down.
