SE sport strut swap problem

ok so a couple of months ago i had swapped my sle struts for the se sport struts. i havnt rolled my fenders yet and i rub every once in a while and i can see the marks on my rear tires. problem is my right side seems to rub a lot more than my left side. is there anything i should get checked? also wen i take turns hard i hear a clunk noise. is that my rsb or the struts? im also lowered on eibach pro kit lowering springs

The struts are not the problem....


The problem is the profile of your tires along with the offset of your wheels, just roll/cut the fenders...

Also, the clunking may be caused by the way you sat the spring on the strut.

I have re-adjusted many struts that people have had problems with as far as clunking.

most shops around here said for the fender, that line that sticks out on the fender plus part of the fender needs to be cut around half an inch and pushed up pretty much. not sure if that makes sense..i hope i dont have to take out the struts and re set the spring...pain in the butt to do..

Sorry to hear of your issues Eddie. Looks like Milt's got you headed in the right area.

A friend of mine was lowered on springs with some similar noise issues and he thought it was the springs but it ended up being the trd rsb. He and another fellow sg member uninstalled and regreased thr trd rsb and all the noise issues was 100% gone. So in his case, it was the trd rsb.

Also as Milt mentioned, about your wheels & tires setup; I too had some rubbing issues in the past and since have switch to a different wheel & tire setup and all is well now.

Got that issue fixed also on the RSB...regreased it and it is good for a long time...

so im going to get my rsb regreased tomorrow, should i get the placement of my lowering springs checked on the struts?

My friend thought it was his springs also, but like I said before, I got him in contact with another local SG member close to him and he was able to help Tact troubleshoot the issue; since I was a few hours away. They were able to narrow it down to the RSB and regreased and waaaa-laaaaa. Tact called me and told me that the issue was all along the TRD RSB.

I would wait and try the grease on the RSB first and then if it doesn't resolve the issue, then have the springs looked at.

thanks michael. ill get the regreasing done asap and then rolling my fenders. i dont want to fuk up my tires..too expensive and best tires ever to fuk up.
