just bought gen2 cp-e intake. having serious problems with wiring. would seem simple - just match up colour coded wires. but my car has more than one wire with same colour! unless i suddenly became colour blind..... anyone who's installed, did you have this problem?

Every single wire are unique.

First you have to well locate ECU connector (E4 or E7 or E8 ). Unplugged those ECU connectors and pull the wire up (don't be too rough ;) )
Then within this connector, you have to locate the wire. You may help yourself locating the wire by isolating one and verify all the wires around if they are the same as the instruction says. There is several wire under there, some seems to be the same color but they aren't. Example : (red)...there is several red wire but some have white stripe on the side, all over it, some not. The key is to take your time and verify 2-3 times.

1) Locate the right ECU connector
2) Within this connector, locate right wire, use the "neighbor" wire
3) Double-check to be sure it is exactly it...clip the 3M connector in.

Good success !

I just installed mine last night... it takes awhile to really look at the photos in the instructions and hold the connector the same angle they are. Look at the wires around the one you're supposed to connect to.

I have to admit, the instructions aren't written very well at all. I'm going to contact them about re-writing them to make better sense!

I also had an extra jumper that I didn't see where it was supposed to go (blue wire with a connector in the middle)??

But it's running okay I guess - can't really tell that much difference from the Injen yet on my late-night test drive, but there were cops everywhere around here so I couldn't really get on it. I'll try it again today - and of course, we'll still be doing the comparison dynos. ;)

From what I understand...it is a test connector to show how it works...

I got to hear the sound a little yesterday, but not much - it was raining and I didn't want to push it on the Falcons in the rain.

Sunny today so I'll be driving with the top down for a few hours - and will report back sound and any performance increases I notice. ;)

I doubt the Butt-dyno will pick up any boostage. The avg backside can only pickup about a 10whp diff. If Injen has any boost at all, the switch will be slight. Sound will be deeper and rice free though.

Also since you're long time lag victim, I'm curious if the tuning will alter that in any way for the '06. I got the cp-e before the lag fix from Toyo and I recall that it altered it but didn't make it go away. Better from the line but still lousy reaction time from 3rd and 5th.

Yeah - tried the "D" for drive setting today - sucked even worse (lag that is) and would snap your neck going through about 3 gears trying to find the right range and finally settling on it.

When I can afford to (prolly next year or whenever) I'm seriously gonna look into a Manual swap. I've had it with this POS shitshifter!! :x

Anyways - nice day and long drive down the coast to San Clemente, so with the top down I cruised the freeways and PCH back... lots of normal driving I usually do for comparison and I have to say that not only does the CP-e SOUND so much better than the Injen (Pretty ricey high-note) - it now sounds like a small-block V8 under accel; but the performance is way better. The low-end torque is phenomenal and in any gear, it will pick right up and not sludge along waiting to downshift to pick it up. I actually have to be careful at a light or stop sign now because the tires will break loose easily! ;)

So - for those who are considering the Injen - don't waste your time/money. Like these other guys have said before - the CP-e is so totally worth the $$!

I'll post Dyno results once we start the testing with the JP headers next month.
