I am looking for a wood steering wheel for my 2006 Solara SLE. Has anyone found one out there? I know they exist. Please let me know.

??? :o

You mean an entire wood steering wheel - like '60s style?

Or are you looking for woodgrain overlays for the center spokes?

Neither. I'm looking for a wood steering wheel - like on the Lexus and so many other cars. To replace the original wheel - just keeping my airbag and center hub. It would have to match the light colored wood in the car and my beige leather interior. Does anyone know if any Lexus 3 spoke wood wheels fit?

You mean a wood & leather combination steering wheel.
Try this company (in Texas) that do custom made steering wheels;

They did (re-wrapped) my steering wheel. They matched the OEM leather and the dash wood trims by sending swatches along with the steering wheel.

What was turn-around time like? After all, it can't be easy driving without a steering wheel. Even in The Midwest.

With the above, I find I must agree.

I have never been a fan of wood on steering wheels... gets to freakin hot in the SoCal summers...

But, I am able to appreciate good work when I see it, even if I am not a fan of the actual product... siennasc98, that is a nice OEM looking end result.

Looks a lot like my mom's old Navigator wheel. I love the look, but I agree that it sucks when it gets hot :(. Will they do custom cf wheels similar to that because I'm thinking of overlaying my interior with cf.

Here goes. I have been around for a long time looking and getting ideas from all of you but couldn't log in. Finally got that fixed and now I need to introduce myself which I will do later but wanted to answer SPF 0's question about turn-around time with american-stitches. Its about 2 weeks so what I did was buy a salvaged steering wheel in the color of my interior, cleaned up the hard plastic behind the wheel and along with my ashtray (which has the color of my wood) and mailed it to them. Came back perfect in all respects

I am not a computer person so hope this is ok. In my day the big thing was the hand cranked adding machine.

Sorry!! Like I said I'm not sure of what I'm doing when I answer questions. Anyway I sent a solara steering wheel to be covered and I smile every time I get into the car and see the wheel.

If this scrolls down again someone please tell me how to fix it

You just hit the EDIT button and delete the blank lines.

(I've done that for you this time.)

Thanks for the compliments.
It's been a while (around May 2002) since I had my steering wheel upgrade done. I think I paid for ~ $475 for everything (re-wrapped, color matching or photogenesis and handling/next day shipping). Turn around time is less than a week. I have to drive my 1989 Toyota truck to work during that time.
