One of the resident HID Guru's on V6P and HID planet clued me in to the way to fix the sign illuminator in our projectors.

Turns out it's not a "slit" in the sheild, it's a piece of sheet metal welded to the sheild that reflects the light upwards...he said you can reach it through the back of the headlight with your bulb out and bend it down with your finger to get rid of the glare boxes.

Has anybody done this?

See these two posts:

http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?p=264920&#264920
http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?p=292811&#292811

Seems to confirm that it is indeed a slit and not just the reflector.

"Brian" is the only one that has done that little mod, as far as anyone knows...

PS... did you ever get in touch with that V6P guy about the ground wires?

judging by the first pic you made a relay harness for the HID's also can you list what you used to make the harness and also pics if possible.

sorry for the hijack
i was wondering has anybody done a lens swap to make it sharper with a clear lens? does anybody know what the size of the stock projector lens is? i have a 2.25" lens from an E46 projector which is clearer than the rippled stock lens.

The harness was pretty simple, but I don't want to post pictures of it because I'm quite embarassed. It's not a quality piece of wiring and I will be redoing it soon.

The plans for the harness came from HIDPlanet's University section...it's a sticky :)
